HOPE Champion Certification
Implement HOPE in organizations
You are eligible for the advanced HOPE Champion Certification program once you are certified as a Facilitator. By becoming a Champion, you will be able to increase an organization’s and network’s capacity to implement the HOPE framework sustainably and systematically. You will be the on-the-ground HOPE expert leading implementation projects and ensuring the HOPE framework results in actionable change in an organization.
What you will learn
Through this project-based learning program, you will have the opportunity to dive into providing technical assistance around a HOPE implementation project of your choice. This may include (but is not limited to):
- Revising intakes and assessments to include screening for positive childhood experiences (PCEs), adding in/framing questions about strengths, and ensuring the form asks questions about personal identities in a respectful way;
- Reviewing policies using the HOPE-Informed Checklist for Decision Making to help craft policies that promote access to the Four Building Blocks of HOPE and focus on strengths;
- Using HOPE for equity advancement to promote equitable access to the Four Building Blocks;
- Creating an internal culture of HOPE at the organizational level;
- Analyzing referral processes including helping an organization determine how their community defines the Four Building Blocks so they can offer culturally relevant resources and referrals;
- Reviewing internal and external communication to ensure the language included on public-facing materials focuses on the positive and PCEs.
Benefits of becoming a Champion
HOPE Champions are certified to deliver technical assistance around implementation of the HOPE framework. This may include individual projects or helping an organization through the HOPE-Informed Organizational Certification process. Champions are permitted to set their own rates for this work.

Are you ready to become a Champion?
To be eligible for the Champion Certification program, you must have:
- Completed the Train the Facilitator Certification program, and
- Completed at least two Introduction to HOPE workshops
The Champion program is a ten week commitment. The first session is 2.5 hours long and will be an opportunity for the cohort to review the key components of HOPEful technical assistance. At this initial convening, there will be time set aside for brainstorming individual projects. Within two weeks of the first session, all participants will submit a project plan for their implementation project. The cohort will meet four weeks after the first session for two hours to discuss progress on individual projects, challenges, and lesson learns. The third and final cohort meeting will happen six weeks later and will be an opportunity for all cohort members to present their projects to the group. Participants are encouraged to attend weekly office hours for support as needed throughout the course of the cohort.
The Champion program costs $2,000 per person. Certification also comes with the option of being listed on our website as a Champion for organization looking for local trainers.
One scholarship per Champion cohort will be reserved, please reach out to us for more details.
The Champion Certification does not require a recertification. As Champions, you will still need to recertify your Facilitator Certification each year to maintain your certification and have access to ongoing support, resources, and Office Hours. This involves reviewing new material that has been added in the past 12 months, tracking your Introduction to HOPE workshops on a shared drive, submitting evaluations, and submitting a $150 recertification fee.
